A mod Project Unite for Need For Speed 2015 (2016 for PC) has been added to the file archive.
The mod improves various aspects of the game, such as handling, sound and graphics, and also adds new tuning options.

Head of Electronic Arts' internal studios Laura Miele told Polygon in an interview that the publisher was forced to postpone the next Need for Speed to 2022 due to complications arising from the pandemic. Criterion will assist DICE with the development of the next Battlefield.
Miele stressed that the series is not closed, and Criterion will return to work on Need For Speed later.
On February 25, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered will receive a patch that adds a vinyl editor to the game and improves image quality on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
After the update, the Hot Pursuit remaster will run at 4K at 60 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X, while on PS4 and Xbox One X, performance will increase to 50+ FPS at the same 4K. Whether there will be improvements on Series S is not specified.
Electronic Arts has completed its acquisition of Codemasters.
