On January 1, we welcomed the New Year with news that Need for Speed Payback would have a free-roam mode, or, as we called it, AllDrive. We are currently working with all our might on the release of the next update, which is scheduled to arrive on February 13.
What can you expect from it? Let's take a closer look.
AllDrive: Hangouts
We are introducing the Hangouts mode, which will let you explore Fortune Valley side by side with your friends and other members of the Need for Speed community.
AllDrive: Hangouts will give you the chance to show off your car to everyone and chat with other players. It is there that you can organize an impromptu car meet with your friends, take cool photos of your team, and simply cruise around the streets (and off-road) at a leisurely pace.
Upgrade kits
In the garage, a new item will appear - upgrade kits. These kits will let you speed up car upgrades - from now on, it will take less time to turn a stock car into a supercar.
A total of three types of kits will be available: level 6, level 11, and level 16. Each type of kit will unlock as you progress through a certain part of the story campaign.
After reaching the end of Chapter 3, you will gain access to the level 6 kit.
After reaching the end of Chapter 4, you will gain access to the level 11 kit.
After reaching the end of Chapter 5, you will gain access to the level 16 kit.
Each kit can be purchased with in-game currency at the following price:
71 400 for the level 6 kit
131 000 for the level 11 kit
180 000 for the level 16 kit
Underglow and tire smoke
You will have access to new types of underglow and tire smoke. They will be included in the existing options; you will find them in shipments once you have leveled up your reputation enough.
The following colors will be available for underglow and tire smoke: blue steel, candy pink, cyan, coral, and gold.
Scrapping all unused parts
To help improve item management, we are adding the ability to sell or exchange unused Speedcards. Select a parts category, and you will be given the option to sell or exchange all unused cards in that category.
Improvements to «Photo» mode
We have made some improvements and fixes to «Photo» mode - in particular, you can now take photos while taking down an opponent. In addition, we have increased the distance the camera can pull back, so you have more freedom to create the perfect shots. We also made minor sensitivity changes, which slightly sped up camera movement over long distances.
The level of detail of background objects when entering «Photo» mode has been increased - so the quality of your shots will be even higher. We also added the ability to turn the display of dirt on and off.
In addition, we added several new filters to the mode: cinematic, cool, warm, grunge, vintage, faded, Lo-Fi, bright retro, infra-zone, and monochrome monitor.
«Photo» mode will also be available in AllDrive Hangouts.
Changes to the main menu
We have made several changes to the main menu. Nothing particularly major, just a few convenient changes that will help you keep up with Need for Speed news and get into the game faster (in campaign mode or online mode).
