Game discussion on the forum
Last week, Gameloft announced a new game, Asphalt Nitro, which is supposedly the "younger brother" of the popular racing game Asphalt 8. No details about the game were known, except that it would take up only 15 MB on a mobile device. This statement raised many questions, since even the simplest modern arcades take up about 100 megabytes, while large projects such as Asphalt 8 "weigh" around 1-2 GB. Now the developers have shared new details about Asphalt Nitro, revealing interesting features of the game.
As can be seen in the first trailer for Asphalt Nitro, we are in for a full-fledged racing game with high-quality graphics, many cars and large maps, like in Asphalt 8. Most interestingly, all of this really takes up only 15 MB. Asphalt Nitro is Gameloft's first experimental project in which the company used a new data compression algorithm without quality loss. According to the developers, everything in the game is generated in real time according to a given algorithm, rather than loaded as ready-made files.
The company intends to further develop this technology, and right now owners of Android devices have the opportunity to be the first to try Asphalt Nitro by buying the game for $5 on the official site Gameloft.

A few days ago, a well-known developer of modding software nfsu360 posted on his blog a new post. In it, he writes that he has canceled all current projects, but there is no need to be upset, as it was decided to create a universal tool called NFS Modding Toolkit. This program has a user-friendly interface and allows loading files of various formats (.obj, .z3d (v1 only), .bin (textures, geometry)).

Mention of DiRT 4 found in AMD drivers
The fresh version of Catalyst 15.4 drivers from AMD, designed to improve the performance of the PC version of the just-released Grand Theft Auto V, can also boast another interesting nuance. A Crossfire profile for the racing project from Codemasters, whose name is DiRT 4, was spotted in the driver. The project has not yet had an official announcement, but apparently the wait will not be too long. Moreover, AMD did not even try to hide the game and mentioned the title in the official changelog for the driver, noting low performance on some configurations. From the available records it is clear that DiRT 4 will be released under the AMD Gaming Evolved program, like the other parts of the series. The game will most likely use a new engine, as in the case of F1 2015, and is unlikely to be released on past-gen consoles.

Project CARS gets final release date
The British division of publisher Bandai Namco has shed light on the release date of Project CARS in its official Twitter. Company staff said they can guarantee the game's release as early as May 8.

We remind you that the game will come to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The most advanced of these will, of course, be the PC version. The developers promise support for resolutions up to 12K (three 4K monitors), the maximum number of players in «online» and other PC-specific «perks». The introduction of DirectX 12 is also not ruled out.
Initially, the release of Project CARS was supposed to take place last year. Then it was repeatedly delayed, explained by the need for further refinement and polishing.

PC version of Project CARS will support resolutions up to 12K
The racing simulator Project CARS has repeatedly been noted as a project that is ahead of its time. It seems it has found a new reason to cement this status. Developers from Slightly Mad Studios updated the FAQ section on the game's official website, thanks to which it became clear that the PC version of Project CARS supports resolutions up to 12K (three 4K monitors). Of course, at such a resolution, even multi-GPU setups of top-end next-generation graphics cards are unlikely to be able to «handle» Project CARS with a decent frame rate, but nevertheless, there is groundwork for years to come.

The developers also do not rule out the possibility of introducing DirectX 12 support. In addition, the PC version will boast the largest number of players in multiplayer: up to 32, provided a 64-bit operating system is installed.

Project CARS will run on PS4 and Xbox One at 60 frames per second
Project CARS will become one of the very few AAA games running on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at sixty frames per second. These important details became known from the updated section of the most frequently asked questions on the official Project CARS website.

However, there were also some pitfalls: the fact is that although the frame rate is the same on both consoles, the resolution differs. On the Sony console, the subject of the news runs at a resolution of 1920x1080, while on the Microsoft console — only 1600x900. The developers did not report how much the game had to be «optimized» to achieve these parameters.
