Colin McRae R4

Colin McRae R4 - a memory in the form of a great car)

After a not very successful project, I decided to continue the old one - R4) This miracle Lotus Elise replaces it. Most likely there will finally be tuning!)) And as they say, a bit of Wikipedia about the person in whose honor the car was created:

Career

Colin McRae began his career as a rally driver in 1986, piloting a Talbot Sunbeam. From the very start of his performances in the Scottish Rally Championship, he became known for his speed and thrilling driving style. Many compared McRae's style to the driving of Ari Vatanen, a famous Finnish rally driver whom McRae always called his idol. Soon he moved behind the wheel of a Vauxhall Nova, and then a Ford Sierra XR 4x4.

Colin McRae first competed in the World Rally Championship (WRC) in 1987 at the Swedish Rally, piloting a Vauxhall Nova, and the next time in 1989 he took fifth place in New Zealand in a rear-wheel-drive Sierra Cosworth. In 1991 he joined the Subaru Prodrive team at the British round of the World Rally Championship. McRae won this prestigious race twice in 1991 and 1992, thanks to which he was soon invited to the Subaru Prodrive factory team.

He first won a WRC rally event in 1993 — Rally New Zealand, piloting a Subaru Legacy from Prodrive. This was also the first victory for the new Subaru World Rally Team, which was an unprecedented stroke of luck for the team, as they were competing against the then strongest Toyota team. It took McRae only two years (from 1993) to take the 1995 world championship title during the season finale in Great Britain, beating two-time world champion Carlos Sainz from his own team. In subsequent years Colin won races such as the Acropolis Rally, Safari Rally and Tour de Corse; in the world championships Colin McRae finished second in 1996 and 1997, in both cases losing to Tommi Mäkinen. However, primarily thanks to his performances all those years, the Subaru team led the manufacturers' standings in the World Rally Championship. In his final season with the team in 1998 he won three rallies and took third place in the WRC, and also won the Race of Champions.

Death

On September 15, 2007, at approximately 16:10 local time, a Eurocopter Ecureuil helicopter, registered as G-CBHL and owned by Colin McRae, crashed 1 mile (1.6 km) north of Lanark, Scotland, near McRae's home. His agent Jean-Eric Freudiger stated that McRae himself was piloting the helicopter. The next day police confirmed that on board were the famous driver himself with his five-year-old son Johnny and two family friends — Graeme Duncan and six-year-old Ben Porcelli, Johnny's schoolmate. They all died at the scene.

Official website Colin McRae's website was soon closed after this, and in its place a memorial page appeared, on which some facts about the crash were published. Later on this page Colin's father, Jimmy, wrote a message on behalf of the whole family. By September 21 the book of condolences had over 50700 entries.

Colin and Johnny's funeral was held in a close family circle, and a memorial service for all mourners was arranged on September 30 at 16:00 on High Street, Lanark.

Status: Done!

Sorry it took so long) The headlights weren't showing up. There were a lot of polygons. I started from scratch. Now I'll set the wheels and lower the ride height, and then we'll get into tuning.

Blinding 8 headlights!

The car is available for download.
