Need for Speed MW 2012 will be able to understand voice commands

Many developers have still been unable to find a worthy use for the capabilities of the Kinect sensor, but recently many studios have decided to bet on the controller's ability to recognize voice commands. Among them is Criterion, which Electronic Arts tasked with creating the racing game Need for Speed: Most Wanted.

Usually in games, to install an upgrade on a car, you have to spend quite a long and tedious time digging through various menus, but in Most Wanted you will be able to improve your car right during a race. If, of course, you have Kinect. For example, to change the tires, it is enough to say: «Mods. Tires. Slicks.» After that, different tires will instantly appear on the car, and you can continue the race. The same principle works for other upgrades.

However, only people with a very good memory will be able to make maximum use of the capabilities provided by Criterion. Others, in the heat of the race, will surely simply be unable to correctly recall the name of the needed upgrade. And, as we know perfectly well, Kinect has serious problems with recognizing Russian speech.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted is being created for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PS Vita, and the mobile platforms iOS and Android. The release of the new installment in the popular racing series is planned for October 30.
