GHOST GAMES HIT BY LAYOFFS

According to reports from multiple sources, a wave of layoffs has swept through Ghost Games. For some reason, Electronic Arts decided to terminate contracts with temporary employees. They were offered two options: either leave for anywhere else with compensation, or move to Visceral Games, which is currently reportedly working on a secret project codenamed Havana. According to rumors, it is a police-themed Battlefield spin-off and will be released as early as the end of this year.

Polygon, citing its own sources, claims that due to the layoffs, development of the next Need for Speed has been suspended indefinitely. Recall that not long ago EA placed the fate of the brand in the hands of Ghost Games. So far, the studio only has last year's NFS: Rivals to its credit.

An EA representative confirmed that the layoffs did indeed take place. Unfortunately, he did not go into details — he did not even name the approximate number of employees shown the door.
