Need for Speed Unbound protection falls after 3.5 years: Denuvo bypassed using a hypervisor
More than three years after its release in November 2022, the anti-piracy protection of Need for Speed Unbound has finally given way. For a long time, the latest entry in the famous racing franchise remained impenetrable, but hackers managed to find a workaround by using the increasingly popular "hypervisor method".
How does the new crack work?
Instead of classic intervention in the game code (patching the exe file), enthusiasts from the DenuvOwO team used virtualization. The hypervisor method operates at a deep system level: it creates an invisible layer that intercepts Denuvo requests and sends it false data about a successful license check.
Key bypass details:
* Universality: The crack works successfully on processors from both AMD and Intel (the main requirement is support for AMD-V or VT-x virtualization technologies).
* Appearance of repacks: The method requires minor system manipulations (for example, running special scripts), but popular release groups such as FitGirl, DODI, and ElAmigos have already prepared their builds, automating and simplifying the installation process as much as possible.
