NFS: Most Wanted gets a native port for Nintendo Switch

Great news for all fans of the classics: an enthusiast known as StevensND has released the nfsmw-nx project — a full-fledged native port of the cult classic Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005) for the Nintendo Switch console.

Moreover, it is specifically the Xbox 360 version that was ported, which to this day is considered the game's visual benchmark thanks to its signature lighting, advanced shaders and particles.

This is not emulation!

Main feature of the port is that the game runs natively, rather than through bulky emulators:
* Static recompilation: the game's original PowerPC executable code (default.xex) was recompiled into clean C++ using the ReXGlue toolchain (built on work from the NFSMW-Recompiled project).
* Native rendering: graphics are processed via Vulkan (NVK / Mesa).
* Performance: the game targets a stable 30 FPS at the console's standard clock speeds — no overclock is required for comfortable driving.

What do you need to run it?

The repository contains no copyrighted assets, so you will need your own game files:
1. A disc image (.iso) or an extracted folder of the Xbox 360 version (PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J versions are supported).
2. The developer's special browser-based web installer, which extracts resources and generates the required shaders directly on your PC.
3. A modded Nintendo Switch console.

You can find the source code and installation instructions on the project page:
