Azimuth 0.10.0: Forza Horizon 3, Motorsport 5 and 6 — in the launcher
Almost There Games has shown a development diary dedicated to version 0.10.0 of its Azimuth launcher. In it, three Forza games will receive full launch support at once, while the second Horizon will gain experimental wheel support. Separately, the authors commented on the third-party project Race One Hub.
What update 0.10.0 has in store
The Almost There Games team, known for the Azimuth launcher for Forza Horizon 2 on PC, has published a new development diary. The release of version 0.10.0 is scheduled for the coming days, and the main thing in it is full support for three games at once: Forza Motorsport 5, Forza Motorsport 6 and Forza Horizon 3. They will appear directly in the launcher itself, rather than as separate builds.
FH3 without UWP dependency
Forza Horizon 3 already had an official PC release, but it existed only as a UWP app. Because of this, the game remained available exclusively on Windows. As the developers intend, Azimuth should remove this limitation by launching through its own launcher.
For FH2: wheels, detail and Steam Deck
For Forza Horizon 2, the update promises a number of improvements:
- Controls: experimental support for force-feedback racing wheels, H-pattern shifters and handbrake.
- Graphics: additional environment level-of-detail settings — Low, High and Ultra.
- Steam Deck: GPU load should drop by around 15–20%.
- VR: the authors are working on virtual reality support for the cockpit view in all games that Azimuth can work with.
Claims against Race One Hub
A separate topic of the diary is Race One Hub, a project distributed online for launching Forza Motorsport 5, created on the basis of Azimuth. Almost There Games did not give permission to use its launcher.
According to the developers, the fork has replaced the interface window, logs, settings and error texts, and some engine files are passed off as its own. The authors remind: Azimuth can be downloaded and used for free, but its rights are protected, and it cannot be distributed, modified or renamed without their consent.
