Gran Turismo Sport on Windows: fan port with FSR 3.1

An experimental build has been posted on GitHub that turns the PS4 version of Gran Turismo Sport into a Windows application — without an emulator and with AMD FSR 3.1 frame generation. However, it can only be launched with your own decrypted copy of the game, and online modes are still unavailable.
A port, not an emulator
Frame generation: pros and caveats
AMD FSR 3.1 can insert intermediate frames on graphics cards from any manufacturer, not just Radeon. In one test, this raised the frame rate from 57 to 115 FPS. However, the game does not transmit motion vectors, so ghosting is possible on fast objects and UI elements. The author recommends enabling generation when the base fps stays above roughly 40 — otherwise the image will look worse.
Shaders: three modes
Shader compilation can proceed in different ways:
- Slowdown: the standard option — until the shader is ready, the game runs at roughly a quarter of its speed.
- Pause: the process freezes until compilation finishes.
- No stopping: the race continues, but some objects appear with a delay.
In addition, already saved shaders can be compiled in advance — right on the splash screen. During the first half-minute of the race, stutters are still possible.
What works and how it plays
The menus, car and track selection, the races themselves, sound and gamepads all work. Online features are disabled. Depending on the number of cars on the track, the frame rate stays around 42–60 FPS.
What is needed to run
The build does not contain the game files. You will need your own decrypted Gran Turismo Sport dump with identifier CUSA03220 and update 1.69, as well as firmware files. Without them, the project will not work.
There is no official PC version
Gran Turismo Sport was released in 2017 exclusively on PS4, and not a single game in the series has yet received an official release on computers — neither on Steam nor on the Epic Games Store. At the same time, Sony has already released quite a few of its own projects on PC, including online ones.
