Real Alpine GT4 test drive: sim racing series moves to RaceRoom

image The Alpine sim racing series is back, but its home will now be RaceRoom rather than Assetto Corsa Competizione. Participants can look forward to two series of different levels, and the winner will get the chance to sit behind the wheel of a real Alpine GT4.

The series changes its home

Alpine announced its plans at SimRacing Expo Frankfurt. The competition, which was held in Assetto Corsa Competizione from 2021 to 2025, returns under a new name — Alpine Sim Racing Series — and on a new platform.

Organizers are still describing the format in broad strokes: each broadcast will feature two races, and participants will be split into two series of different levels.

From the “cup” to GT4

The first tier is the support class for the Alpine A110 Cup. This car became available in the simulator for free back in March.

Those who want to compete more seriously have the second division — with the GT4 version of the A110. In RaceRoom it is sold as a separate DLC car: under the hood is a 1.8-liter turbocharged “four” producing 340 hp, while its appearance is defined by an aggressive aero package with a large rear wing.

A prize as in the real championship

The prize mirrors what drivers in the real European Alpine series receive: the winner of the sim championship is promised a test drive in the real Alpine GT4.

The calendar fits within the period from October to December. The Alpine races will run in parallel with the return of the RaceRoom Super Touring Championship, and the organizers promised to reveal additional details later.

It is worth noting that the announcement came amid a major RaceRoom update scheduled for October 20.
