Gran Turismo 7: a wheel or pedals for the best lap in the Eifel Cup

Fanatec and Polyphony Digital have teamed up for a time trial in Gran Turismo 7, where the prize is not credits but real hardware. The fastest drivers across three regions will receive their choice of a steering wheel or a pedal set, and times must be set by November 16.

The Eifel Time Trial

This competition is called “Fanatec Gran Turismo Eifel Cup 2026” and takes place as a global online time trial. The Eifel in the name refers to the mountains in Germany where Nürburgring is located: participants race on the GP layout.

Car and setup

The organizers left no choice of car: everyone starts in the Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) '22. The coupe appeared in the game in the January 1.67 update and became the first rear-engined car in the Gr.3 class, where the mid-engined 911 RSR had competed before it. The tires are also fixed — Racing Hard — and the setups are set by the organizers. So it is not tuning that decides the result, but steering work and precision under braking.

How to enter the standings

The event is found in the Online Time Trials menu inside the Sport pavilion on the world map. Registration for the ranking starts on November 2 at 12:00 GMT and closes on November 16 at 11:59 GMT — two weeks are allotted for everything. Any player can set a time.

Who gets the hardware

The draw takes place in three regions: Europe with the Middle East and Africa, the Americas, and Asia with Oceania. The winner of each group chooses between the Gran Turismo DD Pro (8 Nm) wheel and the Podium Pedals Sport pedals, but the result will first be verified. To be eligible for the prize, you must be 18 or older as of November 2 and reside in one of the listed countries.

The Japanese caveat

Legal restrictions keep Japanese players from the prize: they can set times and will appear in the table, but they are not entitled to the hardware. If a player from Japan ends up as the leader of the Asia-Oceania region, the prize will go to the next-fastest eligible participant.

What the prize is worth

The DD Pro is a PlayStation-licensed direct-drive wheel familiar to many GT7 owners; this is the 8 Nm version. The 8 Nm base costs $599.95. The source suggests this is the full bundle for $849.95 with the GT rim and pedals, but Fanatec does not specify the exact configuration. The Podium Pedals Sport is a two-pedal version without a clutch from Fanatec's new flagship lineup; it has been priced at $599.99.
