BeamNG.drive 0.40.5: hotfix fixes physics, audio and split-screen

A hotfix 0.40.5 has been released for BeamNG.drive — it eliminates some crashes, fixes physics and audio, and also tidies up split-screen and career. Here are the highlights from the official patch notes.
On November 6, BeamNG GmbH released update 0.40.5 — a targeted patch on top of the 0.40 release, which introduced split-screen and a PS5 version. Below is what was included in the hotfix.
Stability: physics and rendering
- Physics: fixed a freeze and crash that could occur after the car lost stability.
- Rendering: fixed a GPU crash on PS5. When exiting a level, the game now resets the global ScatterSky sky state — previously this caused ambient lighting to “leak.”
Split-screen and career
- In some split-screen modes, passengers no longer appear where they shouldn't be.
- Barriers have been added to derby arenas for split-screen.
- In career, fixed passengers appearing after a race.
Interface
- Support Reports can now be sent without leaving the game on all platforms — including Linux and PS5.
- The Options > Help menu has been reorganized.
Audio
- Modified engine and exhaust events are now louder.
- Ice skids no longer deafen, and sand skids are finally audible properly.
- Snow surfaces have been added.
- The cabin filter attenuates sound more strongly at high values, and spatial processing has been improved.
Transmission and cameras
- Differential protection against over-revving has been strengthened.
- Fixed world camera controls in walking mode.
Cars
- Cherrier Percheron: the handbrake lever has been repositioned and its travel changed, fuel tank variables have been fixed, extended seat rails and a low wing option have been added, and the frame's rear lights no longer illuminate after breaking.
- Ibishu Miramar: the seat has been raised by 2.5 cm, and the mounting stiffness of the seat and N2O bottle has been reduced.
- Burnside: reduced mounting stiffness of the seat and cargo.
- License plates: fixed lighting.
