NFS 12
We all know that EA is already making NFS12. That is indisputable. However, we do not know which direction it is taking. According to a small note in a financial blog, they stated quite definitely that the game would return to its old roots, but at a new stage.
Frank Gibeau, president of EA Games, mentioned the following priority guidelines for new Need for Speed games. At the moment, the next Need for Speed is not a surprise in its development (priorities have been leveled off since 2002, with Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2). Gibeau did give analysts an idea of the primary view on the direction EA has chosen for the next installment.
Noting that sales of last year's Need for Speed ProStreet did not match EA's hopes for the game, Gibeau said he thought this was because the series had become too far removed from what consumers expected. ProStreet downplayed tuning culture and eliminated the police-evasion aspect of previous versions in favor of completely legal closed-circuit racing. For the next Need for Speed, Gibeau promised that the series would return to its roots with many features, including open-world racing and a new kind of highway battles.
The funny thing is that tuning is NOT the roots of Need for Speed.
However, police have always been a welcome addition to any NFS.
