Will EA be sued?
Remember the numerous lawsuits against the developers of GTA, in which they were accused of making people go on a rampage in the streets after playing their game? It is quite possible that EA will not escape this problem either. This is because, just the other day, two eighteen-year-old teenagers decided to race Mercedes cars in one of the city's most affluent neighborhoods. Driving at 140 km/h in a 50 km/h zone resulted in a collision at a turn with a city taxi, which led to the death of a 46-year-old driver. A copy of Need For Speed Most Wanted was found on the front seat of one of the suspects' cars, but despite this, Toronto police detective Paul Lobsinger does not believe there are grounds to say that the game is to blame for this incident. Both young street racers have been charged with criminal negligence. It is still unknown how this may turn out for EA, but the press, as usual, is starting to inflate a scandal, saying that this case is far from isolated. Let's hope that the developers of the universally beloved Need for Speed series have nothing to fear.
