Need for Speed Car of the Day - Volkswagen Scirocco

Before the images were posted, several studies were conducted regarding VW Scirocco for those who have not yet had the pleasure of driving Scirocco and wants to learn a little about the car's history.

There were three generations VW Scirocco, all of which had completely different styles. The first generation of VW Scirocco was produced in the period from 1974 to 1982 year.
Originally it was intended to replace Karmann Ghia. Given the code name "Type 53" during the design stage, the car was first available in Europe and was not released in North America until 1975.

The second generation Scirocco was available from 1982 to 1992 year. They used a design radically different from the original Scirocco. One unique feature was the location of the spoiler in the middle of the rear window.
In 1984, Volkswagen made further changes to the design, which included changes to the body (below the spoiler), as well as changes to the air conditioner compressor.

The latest generation shown in this article was announced in 2006 and released on the road in 2008 year, although, unfortunately, VW recently announced that it will not release the car in North America.
On May 20, 2009, VW announced the R Scirocco version, which was released with four cylinders and a 2.0l TSI engine .
