My personal opinion about the three new NFS games regarding EA's policy is this: at EA everything has been well thought out.
Need for Speed Shift

This game made it into the top 5 best racing games of this year! Even though it didn't take 1st place among this top five, it's still progress for EA after NFS HP2! And why not buy one of the best racing games of the year? That's just how it is. You could say this is a joy for both ElectronicsArts and gamers. For EA, good sales of licensed games that pirates will snap up; for gamers, a sea of pleasure.
Need for Speed World Online

An online game is a good thing! Need for Speed World Online will also join the list consisting of Warcraft 3: Dota, Contr Strike Source, Lenage 2. And I don't think EA will, as always, deceive people and make the online game paid (as in all NFS). Because Warcraft 3: Dota, Contr Strike Source, Lenage 2 sell well due to the fact that the online game is easily maintained and, moreover, for free (i.e., you don't need to buy a license to play over the internet; a pirated copy is enough). And because of this, pirates will actively snap up licensed copies!
Need for Speed Nitro

For a console, this game is fine! Believe me. There are games for Nintendo that are many times worse! Plus, for Nintendo, games cost waaay more than for PC (well, unless it's a collector's edition)! All of the above will help EA make some cash, which is ultimately what they were aiming for! This also proves my thesis that
