Official announcement of Need for Speed: Carbon

At last, we have received the official announcement of Need for Speed: Carbon, which had been discussed online for so long. Electronic Arts has announced that the project is in development and will appear on store shelves in November 2006. The racing game is being created by EA Black Box, located in Vancouver. The authors call intense chases along winding roads laid through deep canyons the main feature of the new installment in the series.

The second distinctive feature is the presence of so-called territories. The entire Carbon Canyon is divided into distinct districts that can be brought under your control if you constantly win races and increase your own reputation.
