Altar of Metal
Japanese metropolis among the mountains,
The outskirts, and a red traffic light.
Two racers, two wild furies at the start,
Two chess rooks from this game.
The blinking yellow, disaster is coming here,
The roar of engines, the hiss of the blow-off.
Two clots of fury chained in metal,
Ready to fight so that one of them won't get up.
Green light, the screech of tires,
The gleam of the bodywork, nitrous injection.
Two furies sped away into the distance,
As soon as they pressed the pedal.
I stood enchanted by the vision
And suddenly for a moment I wanted
To break free from the gripping shackles,
To enter the altar of nitrous and engines.
