News about Drift and Online Mode!
Underground has returned, although the differences are highly questionable. The development team changed the game's physics engine, so drifting will be somewhat different from what we saw in Carbon. The cars feel much heavier and more powerful, which will allow you to control them better, and there will also be no feeling as if they are sliding on ice. Points will be awarded depending on how and at what speed you perform maneuvers.
You will receive bonuses if you start a drift with nitrous, or perform a long slide.
To help newcomers, there will be several drift difficulty levels. At the most basic level, all you need to do is steer and adjust the throttle when executing a slide. An assistant will prevent the car from sliding too much, and it will strive to make your car drift sideways as much as possible.. When playing without the assistant, the game will be more exciting, you will get more maneuverability and will be able to take the craziest drift angles, but it will require great driving skill.
There is also new information about the Online mode in NFS ProStreet:
Another cool element we learned about today concerns online play. You can create a series of events for your friends, although they cannot play at the same time. Up to seven events can be in the queue. For example, two drift races and a couple of standard tracks, or whatever you want, and then after you play a certain event it will not disappear, and other racers will be able to download it. The banner for your event will update in real time, so if you are in the game, you will receive a notification when someone sets a better result on the track you played. EA plans to hold its own events, hoping they will be popular in the game; they will also award prizes to the best racers.
We are not sure whether these series of events can actually be used for tournaments, but if so, then each player can create their own tournament or ranking. This could affect esports, but we need to learn more about it.
