Road & Track Presents: The Need for Speed Special Edition - full version of the game for any OS (Win2000/XP/Vista/7, Linux).

System requirements:

Pentium 4 3GHz
256MB RAM
How to install: Unzip. Run nfsse.cmd and play.

Additional settings:

fullscreen - full-screen mode (true) or game in a window (false). You can switch from one mode to the other using Alt+Enter;
fullresolution - screen resolution in full-screen mode (with fullscreen = true). For widescreen monitors, I recommend setting the native resolution (Native resolution), otherwise the image will be stretched.
windowresolution - game window resolution (with fullscreen = false). It is advisable to set a value with a 4:3 aspect ratio (640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x960 etc).

Network play:

Two players can play using a modem connection emulator (NullModem). One player must be the server, the other - the client.
Connection procedure:
1. The server runs nfsse.cmd. In the game menu, select Modem/Serial, enter a name, and set Connection Direct Link. Wait for the client.
2. The client runs nfsse.cmd with the parameter - the server IP. For example: nfsse.cmd 192.196.1.1. Also select Modem/Serial, enter a name, and set Connection Direct Link.
3. The client presses Dial.
4. The server presses Answer.
Connection established.
If the server is behind a firewall / router, you need to open UDP port 5000.
If the connection was interrupted, all steps 1-4 must be performed again.
