Horn Restoration

Horn Restoration — a mod for NFS: Hot Pursuit Remastered by Enksx1 that returns horn control to the player. The author used the traffic horn logic already present in the game, so the horn works without rewriting the sound system from scratch.

Features:
* horn on holding a key or gamepad button;
* configurable bindings for keyboard, Xbox, and DualShock/DualSense controllers;
* separate volume for your own horn and opponents' horns;
* horn synchronization in modded multiplayer — provided all participants have the mod installed;
* experimental support for custom horn sounds.

Includes an ini file where you can change the keys, volume, and sound. By default, the horn is bound to the H key, the Y button on Xbox gamepads, and Circle on PlayStation controllers.

Important: the mod is designed only for Hot Pursuit Remastered and is not compatible with the original 2010 game. It uses hardcoded offsets in the executable and checks bytes before installing hooks.

Installation

1. Extract the archive.
2. Copy dinput8.dll and the scripts folder to the root folder of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.
3. If another ASI loader is already installed in the game, back up dinput8.dll first.
4. If necessary, open hpr_horn.ini and configure the keys, volume, and horn sound.
5. Launch the game.
